Please Note:
The Program in Applied Mathematics is a separate entity from the Graduate Program of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Arizona. Therefore, it is imperative that you state clearly which program you are interested in and send appropriate materials to the desired program.
- Please submit the following to the Graduate College Admissions Office:
- Graduate College Application and $50 fee using one of the following methods:
- Please submit the following items directly to the Program in Applied Mathematics:
- Graduate College Application *(Not necessary if you apply online. Important Note: If you do not use the online application method, you will need to mail the application form directly to the Program in Applied Mathematics).
- Official Transcripts and degree certificates
- TOEFL score report and TSE scores. (TSE score of at least 50 is required in order to be eligible to become a Teaching Assistant; minimum TOEFL score of 575 for paper-based test (PBT); 230 for computer-based test (CBT); and 79-80 for internet-based test (iBT).
- GRE General Test scores. The Subject Test is optional. (Please choose the following codes at your testing center and your scores will be sent to us electronically: Institution code for The University of Arizona is 4832 and the Program in Applied Mathematics Department code is 0702).
- Three letters of recommendation from qualified individuals on their letterhead paper.
- Statement of Purpose describing your interest in Applied Mathematics and the University of Arizona in particular. Please include a list of the courses, if any, which you have taught and describe your teaching experiences in general.
