S-STEM Grant
The Department of Mathematics and the Program in Applied Mathematics are the joint recipients of a 4-year S-STEM (Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) grant, "Increasing the Number of Highly Qualified Mathematical Scientists in the Workforce", by the National Science Foundation. This grant will provide fellowship support for financially needy new graduate students in the Program in Applied Mathematics and the Mathematics Department. The fellowships will significantly reduce their teaching load enabling them to concentrate on their first-year core studies.
