- Serina Diniega
- is a recipient of the Harriett G. Jenkins Pre-Doctoral Fellowship Program (JPFP), a NASA higher education program administered by the United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation (UNCFSP).
- Serina was awarded the 1st place prize for her entry in the recent SIAM Math Matters: Apply It contest. Her submission was on the understanding of sand and dune motion as a demonstration of the importance of math in everyday life. Her entry will be published soon as a part of the Math Matters: Apply It series
