Electronic and Magnetic Properties of 2D π-Conjugated Covalent Organic Frameworks

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a type of porous organic materials constructed from organic building units via strong covalent bonds. They have attracted great attention over the past seventeen years due to their potential for applications in catalysis and opto-electronics. More recently, the emergence of two-dimensional (2D) monolayer or multilayer COFs with fully π-conjugated core and linker units have provided an opportunity to expand the library of 2D materials beyond the well-known systems such as graphene, boron nitride, black phosphorus, or transition metal dichalcogenides. In this talk, I will introduce and discuss our recent works investigating the electronic and magnetic properties of a series of 2D covalent organic frameworks.
