Computationally efficient simulation of cardiac mechanics

When

4 p.m., Oct. 27, 2020

Modern ultrasound imaging methods (echocardiography) provide information about cardiac function. Theoretical simulations of cardiac function can potentially be used to help physicians interpret such information. I will discuss the development of a computationally efficient approach for simulating cardiac mechanics that predicts heart muscle deformation and blood flow during the cardiac cycle.
