Title: Spicing up your Presentations with Manim
Abstract: Visual aids are a crucial piece of live presentations. Without clear, visually engaging content, you will struggle to make easily understandable arguments, and your audience will likely tune out. To combat this far-too-common struggle, this talk will introduce Manim, a Python-based toolkit for creating mathematical animations, originally created by Grant Sanderson for animating videos for his 3Blue1Brown YouTube channel. We will learn Manim in a collaborative, workshop-style setting. In this workshop, we will learn and apply the fundamentals of this powerful tool, including moving and labeling basic shapes, animating LaTeX, and drawing powerful graphs. By the end of this talk, you will have the confidence to use Manim to create clear, stunning visuals that can be easily integrated as videos or GIFs into your future presentations.
