Title: Port-Hamiltonian Scattering Operator Representation of the Topological Acoustic Quantum Analogue Computer (TAQAC)
Abstract: Room-temperature acoustic platforms encode quantum-like computation in discrete phase states (“phi-bits”) via nonlinearly mixed acoustic modes. Amid the continuous coupled dynamics of the system, the model must also reproduce the π-jump phenomenon: a discontinuous switching between two phase states separated by exactly π that emerges under certain driving conditions. Scaling this platform requires a first-principles understanding of that switching mechanism.
We model the three-rod acoustic waveguide array as a port-Hamiltonian network, with each physical stage (transducers, epoxy couplant, coupled rods, measurement circuit) treated as a port element coupled through power-preserving junctions. From this architecture, local scattering operators arise naturally: each transforms incoming port variables (electrical, mechanical, acoustic) into outgoing waves according to its local physics.
