Title: An accidental dissertation in fluid mechanics
Abstract: I will introduce Navier Stokes, and discuss 3 disparate applications arising from differing parameter regimes. I plan to discuss: our development of a physics-informed attention mechanism for machine learning of Lagrangian turbulence; optimal control of uncertain flows in natural gas networks; and recent work in high fidelity simulations of shock accelerated particles. This will be a "softer" version of my dissertation talk, and I will shape the discussion based on audience interest.
